Birgit Barden-Läufer

Dr. Barden-Läufer heads the International Office of Leibniz University Hannover, Germany. Since 2008 she has been designing training courses in the DAAD-DIES programme on the internationalisation of higher education institutions. She has been a member of the DAAD Executive Board and is a member of the DAAD Working Group „International Students“.

Previously, she worked at the International Office of the University of Cologne, was a DAAD lecturer at the Universitas Negri Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and was a research assistant at the Leibniz-Institut für Deutsche Sprache (IDS) Mannheim, the University of Hamburg and the University of Konstanz. She holds a doctorate in linguistics from the University of Hamburg and a master‘s degree in linguistics, modern German literature and psychology from the University of Konstanz. She also trained as a systemic organizational consultant in 2016.
