Dr. Thida Win graduated from the University of Mandalay with B.Sc. in Chemistry in 1983 and achieved M.Sc. in Physical Chemistry in 1989. Whilst working as a demonstrator at Department of Chemistry, University of Mandalay she won a Scholarship Award from DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) in 1995, which enabled her to pursue her study at Carl Von Ossietzky Oldenburg University, Germany and obtain her doctorate in 2000. Shortly after her resuming work at Mandalay University, she was offered a post-doctoral fellowship at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel for two and a half years, supported by UNESCO-ISRAEL Fellowship Programme. On completion of her fellowship in 2005, Thida returned to Mandalay University as a Junior Professor of Chemistry and since 2016, she became a Rector at Mandalay University which is the largest and Leading University in Upper Myanmar. She just retired in January 2020 and published 13 international papers and three local papers.
