Alejandra González

Vita

Alejandra González, Director of International Relations at Universidad de La Sabana and Vice President of the Colombia Challenge Your Knowledge (CCYK)® Association, which promotes International Education and Colombia as a quality academic destination. She has a degree in Languages and Cultural Studies from Universidad de los Andes and a Master's degree in Inter-American Studies from Universität Bielefeld (Germany). She has more than 10 years of experience in the field of internationalization of higher education. Her professional focus is on the promotion of Science Diplomacy and on strengthening the processes of internationalization of research, mainly through networking and international resource mobilisation for cooperation projects. She has leveraged international resources from funders such as the European Commission, the U.S. State Department, DAAD, and the Spencer Foundation, among others. Between 2020 and 2023, she was the coordinator of the Erasmus+ I2LATAM project focused on strengthening research and innovation management in young universities for regional development. In 2020, she supported the creation of the Columbus Brokers program to strengthen the internationalization of research in member universities of the Association. She has published with other colleagues in academic and outreach journals on science diplomacy and diaspora knowledge networks. She is a member of the Science Diplomacy Network for Latin America and the Caribbean and of the Colombian Association of Research Managers (COREMA).
