Arbelio Pentón Madrigal


Dr. Arbelio Pentón was trained as a physicist at the University of Havana (UH), Cuba and at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2006 at UH. He has worked scientifically on X-ray crystallography and structure characterization of magnetic and ferroelectric materials by means of several characterizations techniques. While his scientific work has been strongly based in Cuba, he has collaborated with teams at Brazilian Center for Physics Research and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Technical University of Vienna, Institute for Experimental Physics, Austria, among others. He is currently Full Professor at the Physics Faculty, University of Havana, serving as Dean of the Physics Faculty in the period 2014–2019. Invited as Regional expert in the International Dean Course for Latin-American ( Editions: IDC - LA -2020/21, IDC - LA -2021/22 and - LA -2022/23), which is a program leaded by the Saarland University (Germany), and the University of Alicante (Spain).
