DIES National Multiplication Trainings (NMT) for University Administrators

About the training:

The DIES National Multiplication Trainings (NMT) for University Administrators aims to engage university administrators for effective university management in the changing environment.The programme is supported by the Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies (DIES) of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The training is organised by Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), in collaboration with Multimedia University (MMU) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM, The National University of Malaysia).

The main objective of the training programme is to explore the various aspects of university management to better engage and enhance the capability of non-academic staff for effective university management. The COVID-19 has introduced tremendous changes and challenges to all higher education institutions (HEIs) hence, effective support of the university administrators is crucial for the development of the HEIs.

Expected learning outcomes:

By the end of the training course the participants are expected to be able to:

  • learn more about the environment they are in, know their roles and how they can make a difference by initiating changes and responding to changes; 
  • identify areas for improvement within their own capacity, to develop the strategy and conduct the action plan;
  • implement the change project to align with the challenges introduced by the COVID-19.

Target group:

The target group are university administrators from public and private higher education institutions (HEIs) in Malaysia.

  1. Workshop I; 07th December - 10th December 2021

  2. Workshop II: 24th May - 27th May 2022
