Colombia - Internalization for Peacebuilding

About the training:

The project is intended to contribute to a successful peacebuilding process by promoting the enhancement of quality in higher education in Colombia, through internationalization at home policies and strategies among higher education institutions in former conflict zones in Colombia. It focused on facilitating progressive thinking leading to educational breakthroughs at their own institutions. The training developed in the participants the necessary competencies and tools to promote and consolidate the internationalization at home process within their own contexts.

Expected learning outcomes:

By the end of the training course the participants are expected to be able to:

  • Recognize internationalization at home concepts, rationales, and to relate this knowledge to their own local and institutional contexts.
  • Identify strategies for the promotion and implementation of the internationalization of the curriculum and the development of 21st-century education skills.
  • Design capacity-building projects based on their own needs and contexts with international cooperation.
  • Identify and make communication recommendations related to the international positioning of their institutions, for cooperation purposes.

Target group:

The target group consisted of Academic Vice Presidents, Deans, Academic Program Directors, International Officers, Academic Quality Officers from non-accredited HEIs located in the following regions: Huila, Chocó, Cauca, Nariño, Casanare, Guajira, Sucre,  Bolivar and Risaralda.
