Internationalisation Policies and Strategies to Support Impactful Campus Educational Policy in Indonesia

 

About the training:

The training “Internationalisation Policies and Strategies to Support Impactful Campus Educational Policy in Indonesia” is designed to strengthen the capacity of higher education institutions (HEIs) in developing and implementing effective internationalization strategies aligned with the Impactful Campus policy of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (MoHEST). The programme introduces key concepts such as Internationalization at Home, strategic planning, and policy development, while emphasizing the importance of intercultural communication and institutional collaboration. In addition, it promotes knowledge exchange and networking among participants, fostering regional collaboration and shared learning across HEIs in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Delivered in two workshop phases, the program supports participants in planning, implementing, evaluating, and refining their internationalization initiatives using a continuous improvement approach (PDCA cycle).

 

Expected learning outcomes:

By the end of the training:

  • Participants will enhance their efforts to promote internationalization within their Higher Education Institutions, thereby supporting the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology's (MoHEST) Impactful Campus educational policy;
  • Participants will be equipped to implement the concept of Internationalization at Home and increase collaboration within their Higher Education Institutions;
  • Participants will develop the ability to analyze institutional strategies and policies to comprehend the need for internationalization in comparison with regional strategies from Indonesia and Southeast Asia;
  • Participants will enhance their soft skills to effectively manage intercultural communication and conflicts. They will learn to improve their internationalization programs based on practical project implementation.

The target group is 22 participants from the HEIs located in three provinces: West Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, and Southeast Sulawesi (Central and Eastern part of Indonesia). The targeted institutions are those that have received accreditation level of B or lower and have an international office with less than 5 years of existence. The targeted participants are those who work in the International Office or a similar unit with less than 5 years of experience.
