Adoption of Effective Internationalisation Strategies in Technical Universities

About the training:

The DIES Ghana National Multiplication Training 2023-2024 is an internationalisation training programme for technical university leaders in Ghana. The main goal is to interact with participants on various internationalisation strategies that technical universities can adopt to ensure operational excellence and equip them with knowledge and skills for the effective internationalisation of their respective institutions.

 

The objectives of the training were as follows:

  • Discuss the emerging global trends in internationalisation of Higher Education Institutions
  • Discuss options for internationalisation in the Ghanaian and the African context.
  • Present standards and benchmarks for internationalisation in Higher Education Institutions
  • Train participants on the development of internationalisation strategies for their universities.

Expected learning outcomes:

At the end of the training, the participants were expected to be able to:

  • Engage in various opportunities for student and faculty exchange programmes.
  • Present standards and benchmarks for internationalisation.
  • Apply international best practices in their universities.
  • Develop internationalisation strategies to expand and improve global networks in their respective universities.
  • Undertake projects on internationalisation to improve institutional diversity.

Target group:

  • Participants were drawn from the various technical universities in the country. All 25 people, most of whom were professors, attended the training.

  • Workshop 2: 26th -28th, June 2024
