About the training:
The training course is intended to strengthen the capacity of higher education actors, especially middle-level managers such as heads of departments, to implement strategic interventions and to promote partnerships and collaborations to drive contextualised programmes that enhance educational quality and improve student outcomes. By prioritising capacity-building initiatives and promoting relevant programmes, stakeholders can contribute to the holistic development of Cameroon's higher education sector. It involved modules such as Project Management, Digital Transformation in Higher Education, Human Resource Management and Workplace Mental Health Management.
Expected learning outcomes:
Learning outcomes on Project Management: The participants:
- Apply theoretical approaches to project management, project phases, and project life cycles.
- Work out relevant criteria for the success or failure of projects.
- Develop strategies/approaches for successful work on own projects.
- Explain the dynamics of project development and management in HEIs in Cameroon.
- Develop a project action plan.
Learning outcomes on Digital Transformation: The participants:

- Identify the various innovation opportunities presented by digital transformation in HE.
- Analyse the impact of critical Meso-level factors that enable or hinder digital transformation in HEIs.
- Formulate strategies for meaningful digital transformation in their HEIs, considering the unique challenges posed by the digital divide.
- Examine the application of the 3M Framework in ODDE for digital transformation research and knowledge transfer
Learning outcomes on Human Resource Management (HRM): The participants:

- Explain the basics of HRM.
- Analyse the characteristics of HRM in HEIs in Cameroon and make a comparative analysis with different systems in Africa and the world.
- Demonstrate skills and knowledge in the areas of HR functions such as recruitment, planning, job analysis and design, compensation and benefits
- Perform the human resource functions and support the educational institution's human resource processes, procedures and systems.
Learning outcomes on Workplace Mental Health Management: The participants:

- Have a basic understanding of mental health at work.
- Identify work-related psychological stressors/stress.
- Have improved self-awareness in relation to their leadership practice and wellbeing.
- Acquire skills to improve resilience and well-being among staff members.
Target group:
The DIES/NMT Cameroon targets 20 middle-level managers, such as Heads of Academic departments, Human resource positions and Quality management, or persons holding similar positions in state and private higher education institutions in Cameroon. This excludes academic positions such as deans and vice-deans.
