Frank Ziegele

Prof. Dr. Frank Ziegele is executive director of the CHE Centre for Higher Education, Gütersloh, a German think tank for higher education policy and management with 45 staff members, as well as professor for higher education and research management at the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück. As an expert for higher education, he is active as a consultant, researcher, trainer and speaker all over the world with a focus on Europe. He covers the full range of topics in higher education policy and management. He is responsible for large-scale applied research projects (such as the European U-Multirank project), but also for the practical implementation of reforms in the higher education sector (for instance as Worldbank consultant in numerous countries). He has implemented master and vocational training programs for higher education management and leads workshops and peer learning activities all over the world (e.g. for DG EAC and DG Research).
In more than 20 years he has contributed with more than 150 publications and more than 100 national and international projects to the field of higher education. He is a member in numerous boards, such as the advisory board of the German network for research and transfer management (FORTRAMA). Through the unique combination of a career as a researcher, trainer and consultant, he has advanced skills to create links between research outcomes and practical implementation.
He speaks German, English, French and Dutch and has the ability to adapt to different cultural environments. His advanced moderating skills also help to find good solutions in situations of diverse interests.
