Vita

Professor Brotosudarmo is currently leading the Institute of Research and Community Development at the Universitas Ciputra Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. Universitas Ciputra Surabaya has a student body of more than 5500 students, is currently accredited as "Unggul", and is ranked among the best 40 HEI in Indonesia. Dr. Brotosudarmo obtained BSc in Chemistry (2001) from Satya Wacana Christian University, Indonesia; Diplom Chemie (2006) from Ludwig Maximilian Universität München, Germany; and PhD (2010) from the University of Glasgow, UK. As a scientist, he received prestigious awards and fellowships, including Marie Curie RTN (2007-2010), Kavli Frontier of Science (2012 & 2016), the 22nd Toray Science & Technology Award (2016), UK Alumni Professional Award (2017), and Georg Foster Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (2019). As an academic manager in his previous post, he succeeded in leading Ma Chung Research Center for Photosynthetic Pigments as the first research center from a private HEI to receive recognition as a National CoE by the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of Indonesia. Professor Brotosudarmo has many experiences in leadership, faculty management, and proposal writing. Professor Brotosudarmo engages closely in developing a professional and agile academic environment through his activities as a national expert of the Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies (DIES) since 2018 in various programs, including DIES National Multiplication Trainings (NMT) and DIES Partnership.
