Daniels Obeng-Ofori

Vita

Professor Daniels Obeng-Ofori is an Agricultural Entomologist with a BSc in agriculture from the University of Ghana, and an MPhil and a PhD, both from the University of Cambridge, UK.  He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), Nairobi, Kenya from 1991-1994.  He served as an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow and has carried out research in Ghana, Kenya, the UK, and Germany.  He was also a Humboldt Ambassador Scientist for Ghana from 2016-2019. Daniels was an employee of the University of Ghana from 1996-2012 where he rose to the rank of Professor in 2004.  During his career at Legon, he held several administrative positions including Head of Department, Vice-Dean, Acting Dean, Deputy Provost and Coordinator of ARPPIS.  He was the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani, Ghana from 2012-2014.  As an astute academic, he has travelled extensively as a visiting scholar, conducted research, and participated in numerous national and international scientific conferences in Africa, Europe and the USA.  He is the Vice-Chancellor of the Catholic University of Ghana, Fiapre, Sunyani.
